Hontianska Parada represents the most important happening as well as means of representation of the village of Hrusov. It is also a major event presenting traditional, folklore culture of Hont. Not only can visitors explore the richness of cultural traditions of our ancestors via theatrical performances, but primarily via the exposure to the real sources of our cultural heritage. This exposure is covered in 4 programme areas of the festival:
1. Rural life - live expositions of manual harvest, beating of crop, bread baking in stone stoves, burning of wood coal, wood and stone chipping
2. Craftsmen from Slovakia and abroad annually present their skills at the festival
3. Houses of Hont as an area for degustation, fun and presentation of surrounding villages
4. Scenic performances of folklorists from Hont and other parts of Slovakia or from abroad in the amphitheatre
